If guest check-in after night audit, why there are only 1 night accounted in system?

All orders need to check-in before night audit. Hotel has to check-out in the same day if guest check-in after night audit.

For example

Order: 3rd Jan – 5th Jan

Guest check-in at 5am in 4th Jan, then hotel needs to check-out in 4th Jan. Then adding new order in PMS for an extension.

If hotel forgot to check out the room in 4th Jan, you will find there are only 1 night accounted in system in 5th Jan. Then you need to add another order for guest.
